Default Rear heat shield problems on the fury

Hey gang, I wanted to start this thread to see if anyone else has had this problem and to warn about a potential issue that I seem to have on my Fury. It seems as if there is a design flaw on the rear heat shield where it connects to the block. The rubber gasket that keeps the shield from vibrating melted and now I have melted black plastic splattered all over my engine. What a mess - The dealer assured me they would make it right and I'm going up next Saturday so they can take pictures. IMO It appears that the air flow might cause the rear shield to get hotter than the front. In the front mount, the front rubber piece is fine and it is the same mounting configuration as the rear. Aftermarket exhaust will solve the problem but I like my stock exhaust and was not planning on spending the $$ for an aftermarket set just yet. Anyway - there you have it. I'll post when the dealer gives me their line of BS next week.

Others have complained of this problem too. My fix? Aftermarket pipes.

They shouldn't, there was a recall last year, still can't believe the newer Fury's have these rubber gaskets on the pipes like that... ridiculous...

There was no recall, but there was a service note, you should not have any trouble getting it replaced.
