Hey all - I just bought a Fury for my wife, I ride a VTX1300C. Anyway, she wants the passanger seat removed. I looked under ther rear fender and there appears to be just 1 screw holding it on there. Problem is, I cant seem to be able to remove it. I did not want to mess anything up so I decided to look it up in the forum first. Either I cant search worth a damn or no one has posted steps on removal.
I would think that removing that screw from under the fender would do it but I cant get the screwdriver to bite, almost as if the screw head is too flat. ![]() Can someone that has removed the passanger seat give me a tip on how I can get it off please. I'm usually pretty good at figuring these things out. For some reason, this project is causing me some grief. Thanks - Barry - (Husband of Neoraine) |

Its held on with three 5mm bolts. You found the one in the back, then remove the two on the sides of the strap. That will get the back seat off. You will want to remove the bracket too if you're going solo, so pull back the front seat a bit and that will expose the two 5mm bolts holding on the seat. Take those off and the seat comes off, then you can remove the bracket for the back seat.

Welcome, lift up on the back edge of the seat pad, there is a 5mm allen take that out, and the 2 from the strap, back is off, then lift up the back side edges of the driver seat and remove the 2 allens, lift off the pad, turn it over and you can remove the bracket that secures the front of the rear pad, then replace the front pad, slip the front into the tab and replace the 2 allens, be careful not to catch and tear the fabric when you replace the back 2 screws. You can replace the far back screw in the fender or replace it with some other bolt, it is a 5mm thread, some use button heads, some spikes etc.

Thanks all - I was trying to remove the bolt from under the fender - As soon as I pulled back the edge of the seat I felt pretty dumb - Had the seat off in about a minute
